I broke down and ordered some of the new KnitPicks sock yarn.

Knit Picks Risata in Black Knit Picks Risata in Coastal

I also got Knitting Vintage Socks and Easy Knitted Accessories during their 40% off sale. Yeah, I need more sock patterns like a hole in the head, but still…it’s so beautiful! Easy Knitted Accessories has some great beaded knits in it and I’m so excited to knit them up.

The black will become socks for Michael to take with him on his upcoming deployment and the Coastal is going to be a pair of Jaywalkers. Yes, finally, I’m going to knit a pair of Jaywalkers. I tried at one point, but didn’t like it and tore it out. We’ll see if it works this time.

Can you tell I’m excited?  I’m going to be teaching a knitting with beads technique class and a class featuring these socks at Yarns and Fabrications this fall.

I’m excited and anxious and I can’t wait.  I’m dreaming up patterns for the swatches and I have all sorts of ideas.  But first…I have to finish my tank top sample for the store.

Liesl and I have been working for the past few months on a blanket for E’s baby. Since E is due next week I thought I might need to get my act together and finish it. The knitting and blocking is done, but I still need to seam it up the middle and attach the back lining.

Mystery Stole 3 Clue 1 July 1, 2007

So, the first clue came out Friday and it looks incredible!  I’ve had a blast looking at all of the other knitters’ completed first clue.  Why, you ask, am I not looking at my own?  I’m still waiting for my crochet hook to get here.

It’s actually working out for the best though since I have to finish a baby blanket this week.  I’ll just have to do some serious knitting on the clue later this week.
